OUR STORY
THE WIRE CAME FIRST.
Coffee and provisions inspired by the artifacts, work, and stories of the American West.
A REAL OBJECT
A Story Worth Keeping
On a wall in Texas hangs a collection of historic barbed wire identified as having come from the XIT Ranch. Among those pieces was one that stood apart: the Hodge Spur Rowel.
It was strange, practical, mechanical, and beautiful in the way old working objects can be beautiful. Someone once faced a problem, bent iron into a new shape, and tried something different.
That piece of wire gave Hodge & Rowel its name.
RESPECT FOR THE PAST
A New American Heritage Brand
Hodge & Rowel is not an old company pretending to have been founded in 1887. The brand is new. The history behind it is real.
We take inspiration from the artifacts, work, and stories of the American West without turning them into a costume. Every detail should feel honest, useful, and made to last.
The founder's birth year and a personal signature. It is not a claim about the age of the company.
THE NAME
Why Hodge & Rowel?
The name reads like two surnames on an old mercantile sign. It carries a little mystery until you discover the wire that inspired it.
The rowel is more than a decorative symbol. It represents ingenuity, craftsmanship, and the value of noticing the details others might overlook.
